Registering Old Affiliate Program Domain Names?

What are your thoughts on this practice?

I was chatting with a friend earlier who told me she had just registered about 15 old affiliate program domain names that had expired and that she has pointed them to a page on her server with a list of existing programs webmaster referral codes.

Do you think this is 'fair game' to use the domain names like that?

Personally, i think its actually a pretty nice way of targetting some webmaster traffic and profiting from it, especially if the domain names still have residual traffic going to them.

How about the rest of you, do you see anything negative about employing this tactic to generate traffic?

At some point a clueless affiliate will probably bitch about not being told the sites went belly up ... but no, I don't see any reason to not capitalize off of existing program site links that are still floating around.
