I was curious to know how often everyone searched for new domain names that they might be interested in, do you have a set day or time to do domain name research or like me, do you just search for them as and when you are trying to come up with a site name or concept?

i did search from time to time when I was bored or felt like I could shell out some money
from today on i will only look for domains when I am bored :-)

I used to search for domains when I was bored, or just paid to renew a domain. Now seeing all the great domains I have had for YEARS that I didn't develop, but continue to pay for, I've started to hold back a bit.
I like to check out the names that are on the expired drop list ... it's a good way to scoop up a gem or two for 7 bucks.
every sunday I type in names I want and see if they are available for register , sofar "gay.com" is still unavailable.

Basically only on an as needed basis. I'll get on a roll sometimes and end up registering a dozen names when I really only needed one. Impulse buying at it's best (or worst).
Only when I need to find out the availability.
Our latest acquisition was Kaptivity.com (K intentional, heh). It's a play on our company name Kastle Archives Productions.

How about KAPtivity? Maybe doesn't look as good on paper/screen as the idea sounds, just an idea.
I only buy domains when needed or if I suddenly get a brainstorm out of the blue.
