Why Isnt This Working Please?

I added an FLV file to a webpage for a sample to show you folks so you can give me some feedback on the size, length, quality, etc but for some reason it doesnt appear to be loading, or showing the image grab for the FLV.

Okay someone on ICQ just helped get the player working, could you post some feedback for me on the quality of the clip please, length, size, etc, etc...

I couldn't get it to play in Opera, my default browser...but I just upgraded to version 10 so perhaps the new Opera needs a flash plugin upgrade as well, I don't know. I could see the opening frame and the player with the big arrow button (play) in the center but it just wouldn't start playing no matter where I clicked.

So I tried it in IE 8 as well. It played fine, no stuttering, but it's a relatively small file so I don't know how smooth it would be with a longer stream to download.

As to the quality, it depends on what you want to use it for. I think it's too highly compressed or too low-resolution of the flash format to actually watch porn, too many artifacts and too much blurry motion, etc. It's a 1.5 MB file which lasts 60 seconds, that works out to 90 MB for an hour. At the frame size you're using, I'd say it should be more like 500 MB for an hour of good quality viewing or twice that if you're going to let the surfer select a full screen viewing mode.

However if it's just for an embedded promo tease, I think it would be okay. If that's the case, I might go with making the frame size even smaller, it will appear clearer to the viewer and act as a tease to get him to click somewhere to see the real video at higher resolution and larger size.

Thanks, these are going to be 1 minute flv files for affiliates to use im also considering going up to a 3 minute clip for each dvd scene also.

Im actually pulling a few of the original files right now, the clip i posted last night was just a 'test' run of my encoding software so i used an already encoded clip, im going to change it in about an hour once i have the original files to use so it should be less grainy and slightly larger in filesize.

Ill post again to let everyone know when the new clip is up and online.

Ill re-work the quality shortly to get that fixed, cant do anything about the music, model watching the tv or camera angles though.

The watermark and credits will be in the completed product when they are available for affiliates to use, right now im just concerned with overall quality of the hosted flv file

Uploaded a new clip, just interested in the quality of the stream right now, i know there is some pixelation at the start of the clip and the end, im trying to get that fixed up now, other than that, how does this new clip look?

The quality of the new clip is much better. The file size is only about 33% larger than the first clip but it's enough to make a difference in viewability. And I don't think I'm influenced by the model being the incredibly sculpted Talvin DeMacchio

i can't get it working in firefox, I checked in ie and see that its a bit grainy and washed out....I am not a video expert, I have someone hired on to do that, but it may be a low quality source file. Try starting out with a super high quality source file and see if that makes a difference.
