Paysites On .co.uk Domain Names?

What are your thoughts on this please?

I have a friend in the UK i have been talking with today who owns both the .com and .co.uk version of several paysite domain names he is about to launch and he is planning on giving affiliates the .co.uk domain names to link to but keeping the .com domains for his own in-house promotion.

I told this probably isnt a good idea but he seems hell bent on the idea, you think this will be a good or a bad decision for him to use the .coms for his own traffic and give affiliates the .co.uk versions?

It's kinda weird, but in the end doesn't matter that much.

I mean, all programs via CCBill also go through another URL ...
