Is 'DRM Free' Still A Valid Selling Point These Days?

Just wondered what your folks opinion was on this, do you think surfers are still swayed by content on sites being 'DRM Free' or is that not much of an issue these days given that most major programs have actually totally dropped DRM as a method of protecting their online content?

Your thoughts please, do you think this should be included as a primary sales pitch or should it be mentioned but not actually used as a major selling point?

    Regards,

    Lee

The primary selling point - no, I'd say not. It feels a little too - desperate - and it ignores the real primary selling point of any content, which is it's emotional 'hook' to the people who imprinted on that niche and imagery.

But as one of the secondary selling points, it's workable.

I tend to use it as a neg sell, as in "We give you these videos COMPLETELY FREE of any DRM or restrictions - not like some other sites!"

So the neg in this case is, beware of "those sneaky other sites", and the hook is, "we're not like them".
