I Wonder? Must have affiliate tools?

What are some of the must have tools you would need to know that a sponsor offers before you would sign up and promote them ?

I know they must have blogging and tube tools these days.

What other kinds of tools should a sponsor offer before you get interested in promoting them ?

Personally, I'd like to see the main sponsor page list whether or not they have these tools, in a simple check yes or no list, to make my life a whole lot easier.

    embedded videos
    hosted galleries (video & pics)
    rss feeds
site descriptions, update descriptions, text ads, etc.
    hosted videos (flv, wmv, etc.)
payment options (epass, check, wire, etc.)
    processor (ccbill epoch etc.)
    cascade billing
    leak free tours
    deep linking to pages
    download content
    email update notices with links
    campaign setting options for tracking
    banners (zip or not)
    csv dumps for hosted stuff
    no hidden cross sells
    update frequency
    sites
    tracking options

I am not saying a sponsor needs to supply all those, though that would be nice, but at least tell us exactly what you do offer, so we can see if it fits into our marketing strategies.

I'd also like to know if there are detailed instructions provided, because frankly the backends leave a lot to be desired in the 'how to' department.

For example, what the hell does the limit code function mean in some cms options for grabbing rss feed codes, and stuff like that.

Oh you fell down all over that too huh? Nats4 doesn't make a whole lot of sense with that button sitting there, bad place for it and no instructions, we're too trained to enter what data we want and then click a submit button.

oh yeah, that and a few others. Amazes me how they build these backends, with every bell and whistle, then hide them under weird names, and expect every tom dick and mary to know how to use it.

You'd think they'd add a button for zip files, for download, but nope, just fancy names like limit code or dump, like what, they can't say 'download'? :kickcan:

I been doing tests with some video lessons on blogging for some affiliates maybe a video lesson on each tool might be a good thing then

Cause yes I know a few that are a bit of a guess as to whats this do.

This is a great idea IMO. We have something like this but not as in depth.

for me one thing I wished more programs had is pixel tracking and/or postback for deep tracking sales

also maybe network-wide performance of sites - ie which are the top sellers for a given period, what's the average EPC, conversion rates. Tho that can be skewed it can be a nice reference point
