Hosted Movie Sites - What Format Of Movie To Use?

When it comes to hosted movie free site for affiliates to use, what is the preferred media format on the clips?

Im thinking that FLV would probably be the best due to not using as much bandwidth with each clip view but am not sure if this is the best way to think about such a promo tool, do you folks that use hosted movie sites or movie galleries, prefer one format over another?

I think flv is enough for this kind of movies.

NOOOOOOOO!!!! FLVs won't work for hosted tgp galleries or freesites, mainly because most scripts that run TGP sites or linklists can't check for FLVs. We released some FLV galleries and to this day they are almost totally unused. Stick with WMV.

Yikes. And we're just about to launch new HVGs with FLV clips...
I wonder if it's worth it to offer both FLVs and WMVs.

What I really like about offering FLVs is that you can use a player that enables sharing and embedding. An affiliate can then tap into viral marketing to bump his own sales.
