If a program was to create a "mini guide" for new affiliates, what would be helpful to include in the guide? What information would be most helpful for new affiliates?

I suspect only newbies would use such a guide, so start from there and include enough information to allow someone to get from zero to a decent working level without problems.
I also suspect the biggest issue would be organizing this type of guide, as there are quite a few different ways of making a living in this biz.

For the most part, the programs who have done this type of thing in the past, MaxCash, ARS, CE Cash, etc, only really included the absolute basics, this is how you build a free site, this is how to market correctly, this is the software to use, etc, etc, for the major 'bulk' of the information they have simply linked to various resource sites, newbie boards, gay boards, hosting companies, content providers, etc, etc....
I dont think you need to make the guide comprehensive in terms of the amount of one-on-one information you include, but you do need to make it usable enough that they can find the information they want on their own.

http://www.cozyfrog.com/academy/ has a lot of good information for beginner webmasters; however, the last time I looked at the material, it was geared toward the biz several years ago, and there have been many changes since then.
