How do you choose a niche to run tests on to see if they are profitable or not?

How do you decide that you want to try a new niche in terms of actually 'discovering' the niche as it were to begin with?

i like to look at the dvds i buy and see what is in them because a lot of times they are labelled as twinks at worldwidecontent.com for example but they actually have a lot of different things iin them like twinks with toys twinks who are blonde twinks barebacking and other stuff like that they do not mention
