    Program Or Paysite Designs?

Those of you that own your own paysites that have an affiliate program attached to them, i was curious to know which you had designed first when starting from scracth, your affiliate program design or, your paysite design/designs?

It seems like for me more and more as of late im actually getting the affiliate program design done first and then moving on to working on the programs paysites, was just curious if anyone else did it this way?

    Regards,

    Lee

paysites are THE most important thing to focus on with designs - if you have a crap looking affiliate site with brilliant looking & converting paysites, you will still become a very popular sponsor.

Affiliate program design? Does it really matter what it looks like? I mean seriously, shouldn't the only main criteria be to have the necessary tools, have it secure, and have simple and easy navigation within. Who cares if its purdy?

I'd much rather have time & money being spent on the tours, the inside area, to keep customers happy, to help get them into the door, than have a nice splashy looking affiliate program layout. :morning:

So you guys are saying that what the program site looks like doesn't affect your decision on whether or not to join?

The program site itself does not need to be all fancy and splashy, but it shouldn't look like an amateur did it either. Make it clean and easy to navigate to the tools affiliates need. Obviously the most important thing is the tools provided to effectively promote the site.

well yeah!!!! I promote intensecash and they have nothing but a plain vanilla nats affiliate area. I also promote puppycash and they have a horrible affiliate area, but fortunately Lisa is a sweetheart and she responds to my emails quickly with the info I am looking for!

But you didn't know that prior to joining. I'm talking about the home, our sites, program details, and join pages you see before you have access to that part of the site.

back when I had my paysites and program running I did it all messed up

I built prolly 6 paysites first, then a broken program (it was just a page on V1rtualdesires) then I moved the page to it's on domain that had NOTHING to do with the company name

Then I merged all 6 paysites into one big mega site, opened up the program and then launch 4 new paysites.

It was a clusterfuck at first but then again it was 10 years ago and I learned from my mistakes .

in 2006 when I went to open a second program I build the affil program first and as I shot the content I would make the promo content for the affil program, IF it would have worked right everything would have launched at the same time

But flaky models and poorly worded contracts (and inept lawyers ) saw that program fold prior to a full rollout.
