i seen a few more programs that are doing what hunk money did with website secure last week and wondered if this is something that every paysite will need to be trusted or if using something like epoch and ccbill will be enough for webmasters to trust the paysites the sponsors have?

WebSiteSecure offers surfers another layer of "feel good" and helps convert them into paying members, and it actually does help get a few more sales too. It also shows your webmasters that you are an ethical program and that helps you get a few more good quality webmasters on your side. And overall, IMHO, I think its a long-needed program to help separate us hard working and honest programs from those that are in it to scam a few bucks.

I think that in the next few months you will be seeing a lot more sites with WSS certification, and you will see affiliates using this certification to get their surfers to click through to the paysite and join. TheBestPorn announced it will be working with WSS to show certified sites on their reviews. I am betting more and more will do this.

Overall, I think being certified is a valuable asset that will only gain value over the next year or two, no matter who you are using for your billing.

To a certain extent i think that it could be a valuable tool if promoted correctly however, that being said, there is no reason to say that being 'certified' by a specific company is going to make a site sell better than the years of trust gained by the well known and trusted processors in use by many, many programs.

After all, what is to stop me from launching 'GWW Certification' and having people pay to use that on their websites, ultimately, unless it is a certification from a company such as Thwarte, i really do not beleive surfers are going to be that bothered whether a website is 'trusted' or not in terms of what someone else tells them, they will purchase on their own instincts and experiences and for most, that means utilizing an established billing processor.

Lee, nothing is stopping you establishing GWW Secure, except you.

The point being that WSS is actually establishing itself as a trusted third party, it has had press coverage in major publications and it has a strong set of sites already using it. People are already getting to know it and trust it. Relentless is doing an amazing job making headway in bringing WSS partnership deals to other sites (like TheBestPorn) and getting word out, and this looks like its going to continue to get stronger and establish itself as the authority.

So you can do the same thing if you want to invest the time, money and a lot of effort. Or you can hop on the bandwagon and benefit from all work already done and being done by Relentless and his team.
