I found out that the emails are coming from Cybersocket encouraging sites to signup to affiliate website programs. The emails looked like I signed up but when you click on the links they link to the sites "signup" page using Cybersockets affiliate links. Epoch said it is called "blind linking."
I apologize for accusing cash programs of spamming.

Sounds like they let their "verified circulation audit" service expire again. The last claim I heard, which was contradicted by inside sources at Cybersocket, was 70,000 copies printed. But there are numerous stories of large quantities of Cybersocket magazines being "distributed" straight to trash cans. 2.8 million readers is a completely unbelievable number. Even if they printed 500,000 copies, that would be an *average* readership in excess of 5 people per copy, and i doubt most people who actually do read the thing spend more than about 5 mins with it and then toss it in the trash.

I do find it interesting that Morgan (who, by the way, owns Cybersocket with his partner Tim) represented that it was a browser problem. Not terribly surprising, though.

Well if Cybersocket is spamming affiliate programs, hopefully the programs being spammed will terminate their affiliate accounts.

    Regards,

The affiliate programs are probably paying to be emailed out. I have joined a few programs from the cybersocket emails.
