The letter made about as much sense as the plot line of "Where The Wild Things Are".

Don't know what his numbers are, but it kind of brings to mind the discussion(s) here in the past about not paying more than $220 for a solo JO, or $250 ea for a Duo oral/anal. Wonder what he paid?

I didn't find that many of his models - albeit just head shots - to be that "hot", unless they have bodies and cocks/balls that make up for it.

The "For Sale" icon clicks to an unknown.

It feels good not over-spending and having (some) money in the bank.

I agree with you Nick. I receive the model apps from PFL. Models think because they have a big dick or this and that they are gods gift to porn but in reality there is always a model to replace a model.
I have seen their dvds, I wasn't interested. They did nothing for me. The models needed viagra and then some. One dvd I watched they called it Fucking and put that they fuck in the description. 2 scenes were fake fucked. The camera jerked and you could see the cock was limp and was not even in the ass.
I wish them the best. I would hate to see any company go under. I think it could've been avoided by just thinking wisely and budgeting even wiser.

Whatever the case may be, whether some like or dislike the site, for me this is a bit sad. While I have no experience with the man or his partner or company, my perception from the video is of a sincere guy who put his heart and soul into something he believed in. OK, play the violin, but he could be anyone of US at ANY time. He's right, health and quality of life are the most important things, and I wish this stranger all the best. Sounds like he has a lot of common sense at least in priorities.

I admire how Doug is open and honest about the business.

I started out about 12 years ago with my spouse and partner with boysinc.com (still around). It has been a very interesting decade with lots of changes in content, free porn, internet technologies, and customer habits.

Doug has done something great. He is telling everyone ahead of time and it not taking whatever money comes in through billing and running away. No matter what happens in the future he leaves the door open to a new site at a later time.

I hate to see any small business going out of business. Though I don't know Doug personally I feel for his pain but I also rejoice in a new start for him. I hope he still hangs around and is part of the small group of gay (and lesbian) webmasters.

We are reminded on what is really important when it comes down to it. Working 24/7/365 and loosing one's health is not as important as enjoying the journey and each other.

Doug is open and honest?!? As I recall it, this is the site that didn't pay affiliates for ages, only for their LLC to declare bankruptcy during a major fight with the IRS. We finally got paid about a year after getting a letter about their bankruptcy.

They later reformed under the name Boner Bucks (they were "Straight Guy Cash"), and again the payment problems started. We finally had to suspend their listings on GayGeek because they not only weren't paying affiliates, they wouldn't even contact us back in spite of our numerous e-mails and phone calls.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm glad the site is dead. I'm sorry about anyone's health concerns, but I can't say I find much compassion in my heart for anyone associated with running their business. They spent years fleecing affiliates (and the IRS apparently) in an effort to strike it rich. The departure of the website is good riddance to everyone.

ROFL. Yes, I do. I actually own the rights to several of my old photo sets that ran in magazines. Freshmen purchased all the rights, but Inches just purchased one-time printing rights. So I made a deal with the photographer to sell me the rights (and negatives) after. They were useless to him so he was happy to make a little more money.

Give my ol' website a looksie at www.aaronlawrence.com. It's just an archive site these days to my ol' career, but it still has a number of photos and such on there. Only a small fraction of the ones that exist, but enough that it may make you smile.

Great job of archiving your history.

I'm still earning revenue off of video I shot in 1986, 1988, 1998, 2003... in some cases, some of that video is earning more per month than brand new stuff!
