As we get older... what is the #1 change you see in yourself (not physical)

I noticed I have a lot less tolerance for silly drama and it is harder to get me down. I actually feel much more secure which is a good change, what changes do you see?

    Hi!

Hmm I dunno but I saw this poster the other day:

`As I get older I thought I had more patience...
    ... Now I realise I just don't give a shit!'

I guess that it takes more to get me ticked off!

The past few years I find myself
    • driving a little slower than I used to
    • taking more naps during the day
    • putting away more money for retirement
    • hanging with people my own age
    • watch less tv
    • taking vacations away from home
    • spending less on clothes
    • more frequent haircuts

I no longer care about having a car that impresses anybody. Instead of buying a new car, I bought Ford stock.

I now save money instead of spending everything I have.

I think more before I act.

The tellers at the bank know me by name and bartenders have no idea who I am. (BIG change there)

I don't care much anymore about what other people think of me but I care about how I think about myself.

I'm a lot more patient with myself and my limitations. It's ok now not to put on a fancy holiday meal, it's ok to not wrap the gifts, it's ok to need a nap, it's ok to say "hey, I know we wanted to do such and such, but I really don't feel up to it".

Most of that can be related to physical stuff, but it's really a huge burden I've taken off of myself mentally. For most of my life everything had to be just so (translated: perfect), promises kept, don't quit til everyone is ready to quit, etc ...

    Fuck that.

Life's too short, and when I am up to experiencing it ... it'll be on my own slow terms! LOL

For some reasons, when I was in my 20's it was really hard to pick up guys from 18-25. But now that I am in my 30's...I've never had so many young guys horny to be fucked. I guess I over estimated the fact that there was so many youngs guys who were into 'older' guys.

Few things impress or surprise me about other people. I can't remember the last time I was shocked by something I heard or saw.

I'm also much less materialistic than I was in my early 20's. Now that I can afford more, I really don't want much.

I can now tolerate some popular sports. Before I could never understand how someone could sit and watch a ball go back and forth for 3 hours. Last weekend I actually watched an entire football game and kind of enjoyed it (don't tell anyone!).

Oh and I'm glad we weren't suppose to mention physical changes because I look exactly like I did when I was 22. HA!

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

I don't try to change the world as much. Not that I've lost all of my ideals of youth, but I've realized I can only do so much.

I'm trying to take some time to enjoy the now and sniff the roses instead of just working myself to death to have something for the future.

I've become less trusting of others, more trusting of myself.

I think I'm much more confident, better at sex and smarter in business then I was in my 20's.

It's getting harder and harder to store new information up there...my brain hard drive seems to be full.
