    Clicks...

Okay stupid ass question ahead, fair warning!

I started back up as an affiliate after some time off. For the month of November my sponsor said I sent through 1687 clicks.

I am assuming that means 1687 times someone click on one of my banners/links to my sponsor, right?

Well not a single signup! Is that normal?

I asked my sponsor which page or pages convert the best for them and they told me where to send my traffic. This month I have had only 675 click throughs. These numbers are from just one site.

    I'm doing something wrong.

Also I seem to get most of my click throughs from my page peel ad. Does anyone else have much success will them?

    Thanks Jay

Most surfers are first and foremost looking for freebies.

If the sponsor program is old, there's little assumption that a webmaster would be sending a new customer - who isn't already signed up.

The other day when I suggested to affiliates that they drive traffic to my DogGone theater, it was because DogGone has undergone some major work in the past year, and many surfers may not be up to speed on the changes and new opportunities there - compared to other VOD portals and to the earlier incarnation of itself.

This very reason is why I doubt I have the stamina to be an affiliate. I do pay for some porn, but why buy the cow...

Reason number two...Sponsors who assume that anyone who is gonna signup already has and sponsors who don't "freshen up" their own sites and content.

Anyway I'll just keep pluggin' away.
