I wish it were more than 5 minutes limit for correcting
posts...

I hate... hate... hate it... when I see a typo I have made
and I can't FIX it - without having to bother the admin
via eMail to correct it...


is it possible to get my time limit altered...
I would actually prefer to have NO time limit on my posts...

there has been a few times that I have avoided posting
because I was either in a hurry or really tired and didn't want
to risk a typo being permanent so I posted nothing...

I'm a pickie-perfectionist I guess...

The problem with that is...

Once replies are made to a thread it then becomes a lot easier for people to change their original messages

It has happened in the past that because the original thread starter didnt like the feedback they got they deleted their responsonses

This in turn made it look like the entire thread was bashing someone for no reason

I honestly do think 5 minutes is more than enough time to edit a post though and, if you do need something changing then both Gary, Myself and the moderators would be only to happy to edit your post for you

That's very good to know, Lee. I had never thought of a longer window for allowing a sudden change of errr........heart! Personally, I am just always chaffed when I see how often I'll make a typo or mangle the grammar because my mind if going much faster then my fingers and Spell and Grammar check doesn't always catch it. Then again, I suspect having a few errant spelling on your board is a lot easier to deal with then schizo-thread starters who would otherwise rant-and-run!

I don't want to bother you with changing typo's...etc...
none of us have that kind of time to spare...

We've had the rant and run happen a few times and they were all done by regular members of the board.

We're not out to inconvenience anyone... but there is also a preview option before you post.
