Does anyone know whether having a syndicated RSS feed on a blog improves or worsens a blogs bounce rate when it comes to surfers reading the actual content included on the blog and/or the feed?

I tend to aim for a bounce rate of around 40-50% on blogs but im noticing that on the blogs where i offer an RSS feed readers can subscribe to, the bounce rates can sometimes be as high as 70-80%, is this directly related to offering the RSS feed and if so, do you think it would be worthwhile removing the feed syndication or do you think the trade-off between more RSS readers/users hitting the blog vs a higher bounce rate is a fair one?

Your thoughts on this please?

Lee
