It does feel amazing.
i think the problem with its survival is it can only be used with aebn. you cant use it with just any video. with the real touch you have to remain stocked on minutes and pay the 200 for it. but its an amazing feeling.

Give it time, somebody will hack it. The interface can't be that complicated.

From talking to someone at AEBN a couple of years ago about this, i recall part of the conversation we had being about licensing the technology to other companies to use on THEIR DVD titles, so im sure at some point in the future we'll see the technology behind this being licensed to 3rd party producers.

As far as the technology being hacked goes, i was under the impression that AEBN had licensed the technology from NASA so i am pretty sure if that does happen, it wouldnt actually be AEBN going after the person, but NASA, the owners of the technology.

with all the software out there to capture videos and sound i see the video part being no problem. after a tour seeing how aebn programs the realtouch, it doesnt seem that difficult. i think anyone who knows good programming could hack into the device and reprogram it and then look at the options of selling the code or something. look at credit card frauders every day they are coming up with more ways to hack peoples personal information. in philadelphia there was a big problem with some gas stations where somebody made a device to drain credit card transactions right from the gas pumps. i suspect if they can do that, they could hack into the real touch computer minds. just my $0.02

Apparently she's right. The thing won't work -period- if it isn't live, because AEBN has done multi-level authentication, and it constantly phones home.

That's a real shame on more than one level.

For one, there are lots of situations where one might want to use the realtouch when there's no net connectivity. For another, the idea that you are paying $200, which is a lot for a sex toy, to be locked into only buying content from AEBN, and constantly having to pay AEBN on a recurring basis in order to use your toy that you've paid $200 for also kinda sucks. It's good for AEBN and affiliates, but not so good for customers. For a third, if for some reason AEBN decides the product isn't profitable and kills the authentication server, you're stuck with a $200 doorstop.

It does look like a hardware hack would be fairly trivial so my guess is somebody will come up with an aftermarket product pretty quickly that works with the physical interface. I'm all for AEBN making money on its product, and encouraging customers to stick around by providing a fantastic product at a competitive price... but not so much about coercing customers, after they've spent that kind of money, to HAVE to continue spending money to continue to use the product.

Aebn schould have down loadable content or buy a disk. I think sales might be a little better. I know I wouldn't spend 200 on a toy and be locked into one company
Also you should have lots of promo content to market it
