Live cam shows: Need advice on starting

I want to start doing live webcam shows on my site and I'm having some trouble finding info on getting started. When I try to Google anything having to do with webcam shows I just get a list of sites featuring them.

I was wondering how to get started: what software to use, camera requirements and any other wisdom you can share with me. Also, what's the best way to spread the word on schedule and launch?

I would imagine that unless you have a HUGE e-mail list of past and present members, a HUGE number of weekly clicks, and otherwise a HUGE following, it would be a very slow go.

And would your webcam models also be your video models? Why mix and match talent?

What might be a bit easier to do is make videos that LOOK like webcam modeling, 1 hour each, with all the lead-up, the typing, the strip, the action, and the cool-down, solo or duo... set to LOOK like a webcam session, but actually a video of..

What I' was told by one of ChiChi's webcam models is that webcam models usually have their own personal PayPal account, and get customers to pay THEM, not YOU, for the private show... which screws you out of the reason why you're doing this in the first place.

Also, what's the best way to spread the word on schedule and launch?

That's a really good point, Nick! I really appreciate your experience. Maybe I'd be better off focusing on my regular vids that trying to get webcams going. I'll have to give that some thoughts.
