    What happened to Maxpixels

Did I miss an announcement or something?

I cannot get to the Maxpixels website. Is this content provider another casualty of the free porn movement and the bad economy? Ohh and should I add 2257 to the list?

    They had some great content.

If the secondary producer requirements are revised in the future, it would be nice to think that Maxpixels would be open for business.

I think so The site has been down for a while already. The first time I noticed that it was down was in september 2009.

There was an announcement about the site script suffering a major breakdown, and they decided to put DonMike's time and talents to other areas of the RandyBlue Empire, rather than try and repair it.

Yeah they have been gone for a while

If you are looking for some image content though, make sure you checkout Rainbow Content in addition to Ounique and also http://www.allgayprovider.com

Incidently, we added a bunch of new sets to Rainbow Content late last year

    Regards,

    Lee

I talked to DonMike about MaxPixels a few months back... they had technical issues (not legal or whatever might float around) and like Bec said they decided to devote Don's time to other venues of Randy Blues' rather than reconstruct maxpixels.... something I regret deeply.

Rainbowcontent is a great source, as in allgayprovider and ounique ...
    :-D

Do you think that Maxpixels' reason to close was that most of the content was from European primary producers, with European IDs and Passports in their 2257 docs?

before maxpixels went down, i bought content. content was bought before i came into the office and the 2257's were accurate.
i got an email before they were closing, they could not manage it anymore because they wanted to devote all their staff people to randyblue and they were having turnovers a lot.
i would never believe maxpixels shut down for legal stuff because if they did belator was their main company. it would have shut down too and belator runs randy blue. if they shut down for that reason one would think they would fold all together.

The partner ounique is closing too at the end of this month.
What is going on with the industry? So many sites are closing these days - affiliate programs, paysites and webmaster sites...

Monster affiliate sites are de-democratizing search engine SEO, and the ability of consumers to maintain loyalty to destination sites.

Once monster affiliate sites go away, and stop giving away long length previews, the sooner content producers and content distributors will have control over customer loyalty and content rights.

    LOL...

What's going on is the industry is taking a major hit.
A lot of the programs are screwing the affiliates for a profitable gain.
Onique announced over 2 years ago they were closing shop, they didn't announce when.

Other programs are going under because they were giving away too much like $200+ per signup.
The small programs are going under.

Those who operate tube sites... There's over 1/2 your answer. Why pay when you can get it for free in a consumer stand point.

The industry is going under. Everyone from the very huge players to the very small guys are hurting. This is why if you sit down and look, producers aren't purchasing much anymore, the big studios who said they'd never provide memberships are now diving into selling memberships.

Look at the shows... AVN in Hollywood, FL was practicly dead this past weekend compared to where it was years ago.
Not as many went to the Phoenix Forum, etc.
Sit back and take a look and research, you will see the adult industry is down 50% if not more from a few years back.
