Web cam

Hi,

I was wondering if someone could suggest a simple web cam (the device, not a service) that I can use on my computer to Skype with video back and forth with my family. I really know little about web cams -- is there really much of a difference between them? Or do you just sorta buy a generic one and make do?

this is what we use for the hallways and other main living areas in the house. we use video cameras in the model bedrooms.

Go cheap, it's fun for a while, then it gets kinda old and boring.
I think I saw or heard skype has been messing up peoples computers too, so you might want to look into recent problems first.

And being from PA where the school turned on the kids laptops while they were home in their bedrooms.....unplug it or cover up the lens when not in use.

I have nightmares of what my mother might see if she calls me on Skype and I accidentally click "answer" while being unprepared.
