Mobile.
My mobile ratios are great. The problem is that most US cell networks suck and when people have high bandwidth handsets like the iPhone, AT&T's answer is "use less bandwidth" rather than trying to build out their network.
I think we'll see a bigger move to mobile once the networks catch-up. The technology on the consumer-side is already there.

Mobile is definitely booming right now but thats not really a traffic drive type of thing more an emerging market.
Our beta testing for our new mobile sites are seeing some simply awesome conversion ratios, we're talking consistently less than 1:75 on some of the sites we're testing

mobile for sure
I think mobile will be hot for a while. I just don't get it though, who enjoys watching porn on a tiny little screen for long amounts of time.
I know I don't. Just a headache waiting to happen.
And texting all the time, so rude. But I digress.
I like BIG screens.
size queen for TV's I guess.
(that's televisions, not trannies)
Afterthought
Full size sex dolls that look and feel real, hook up to AEBN, and you feel the fuck just like a pornstar.
Then they will clean the house too.
Someday, it'll happen, the Japanese are working on it right now.
(just hope Toyota isn't the manufacturer, owch)
I see mobile as being popular simply because a lot of techno-happy iGeeks are buying their handhelds these days. But I don't see how porn on such a small screen will ever provide the sort of masturbatory experience that a desktop will. Yes, it's fine when you're without a laptop in a hotel (or even sneaking into the office bathroom), but a 12 square inch screen just ain't gonna cut it in the long-run. It's a limitation of the technology. Perhaps the iPad will do a little better, but then again that's more difficult to carry around. :argue:
I believe the future isn't in mobile, but is in higher speeds. Video will become more common and photos less so. As more producers upgrade cameras we'll see increasing usage of high-def cameras.
I think we'll also see more reliance on review sites like GayGeek and others. The number of gay porn membership sites on the web is increasing and it's becoming increasingly difficult for people to distinguish between sites that keep the promises they make and sites that do not. Good review sites will become a staple for people who want to know if a site is worth joining before they join... as well as a place one goes to shop for a new site to join.
I'm hoping the increasing reliance on review sites and ongoing development within the porn market will see lousy sites shut down. I am pleased to report that in the five (nearly six) years GayGeek has been in operation I've watched a number of affiliate programs merge their "ten photo sets + 500 video feed crap sites" into a smaller handful of sites which actually receive semi-regular updates and maintenance from their programmers. Still others have abandoned the "crap websites" altogether and focused their endeavors elsewhere (I'm looking at you, Pussycash!). I predict this consolidation and eventual eradication of (most) shitty sites will continue for the forseeable future.
There'll always be sites that die a slow death from neglect, but at least we'll see sites that were actually once good before they were abandoned rather than sites that were always crap to begin with.
Similar things were already explored in the US at least as of a year ago, when I spoke to a couple of producers who own/run their own straight sites. But the technology is far too expensive right now for the average person to afford. Not even sure exactly what dolls/gadgets are involved, but was told people find it surprisingly realistic. Not for me.
Wow, my 333rd post, does that mean anything?
agreed with in a pinch , I'm already set up for IPHONE and IPAD

As a content producer I have sent lots of content out to on deck and off deck portals and I have not seen any real revenue
Most telcos take too large a % and block you from being on page 1 or 2, if you are on 3 or below on their platform forget it, as mobile surfers click less than web.
Off deck portals are blocked, by the carrier. I got my content on to a site that was promoted on orange in the UK also on 3UK for full hardcore not glam and the revenue did not cover the postage cost
Mobile may be the future but content providers need to make more cash or there will be no content

When it comes to mobile, on and off deck carrier are so passe, instead, create your own mobile site and delivery system, getting on the carrier decks just dont have the revenue streams they used to, especially as the vast majority of mobile devices these days are already web connected, where you can maximize your revenue streams from each image, movie, mobile site, etc..
