Advice on running a website in the UK

I am at the moment running a website in spain which is dedicated to MM spanking. I have a deal with verotel for the site but also sell clips and DVD's on clips4sale. I am planning to return to the UK in the near future and someone told me that I need an R18 to sell DVD's in the UK but this apparently is expensive to obtain. Can anyone tell me any other mine fields I have to watch out for going back to the UK? There just doesn't seem to be any real knowledge base on the internet-would really appreciate some help on this...
    cheers! John

I have to say so far Ive had no problems with them-but I will bare that in mind, clips has so much traffic I tend to make more from them anyway even though they take a massive 40%!
But as mentioned I really need to know more about running a porn website in the UK

All the UK companies that I know have moved their hardcopy businesses onto the continent.

So if it is DVDs that you are looking to distribute them, they can be mailed INTO the UK but not within the UK... subtle difference.

So, I think that CloneZone moved it's distribution into Spain. Another company is working out of a warehouse in Luxembourg.
It ends up cheaper all around.

Not sure if there are restrictions on the web-based business, but hardcopy does have some issues surrounding it.

The best way to make DVD distribution pay is to do it as DVD-R (Duplicated) On Demand. While the cost per item can be a bit higher than Replicated DVDs, but only after many 100s of copies have been sold, and there's no Inventory matters such as manufacturing, shipping, and storage costs (including having a place big enough to store 500-1000 copies of every title) - before any copies are sold.

I wish someone in Europe would do this - because my niche of M/M softcore and hardcore is popular in Europe.

Well to be honest i only probably sell one or two a month-having saying that Ive just had an order for 9 different videos! However being a one man operation it takes me no time to do a copy.
