Shit Down Porn Today and what impact would that have on the US?

Think it over.. if the US Government shut down porn today, what would the financial impact be on the US.


I have a house in the US. would have to sell. I have 2 people that work for me part time. Would have to let them go.

My wife has 4 people in the US working for her, they would be gone.

So what do you think. How many more unemployeed? How many more homes lost?

I doubt it would happen. but if it did, we would lose everything. our models would be out on the streets. our staff would be out of jobs. it would have a big domino effect like the sunami in personal lives. It would be horrible. I think unemployment would sky rocket. the homeless capicity would sky rocket. it would be huge. lucky enough the industry is stable.
we had this conversation last weekend with another producer. what if aebn goes out of business. smaller producers rely on them to keep their business above water. what if one day they decided they want to move into mainstream and drop adult. how many people would be out of business.
it would be horrible and i think it should be something to stick behind everyones mind. what if your main source of income dropped. or what if some day (not the chances are likely) the gov't decided to ban porn from being sold or distributed in the united states. what would you have to fall back on. I second that.

Of course, this thread is conjecture and therefore, so are my thoughts. I think to get to the point where "porn was shut down," that so many other things would be going wrong already to oppress and damage incomes/freedom/society that this would be one on a list of other calamities.

What concerns me right now, is how the question came to mind, Porn Guy. Don't get me wrong, it's a good question. As a US citizen, it makes me wonder if non US citizens/webmasters are seeing something or fearing something about the US that maybe we Americans can't see because we are in the middle of it. Or this may not be it at all.

I don't think it would happen. Vice sells, the guberment knows this; e.g. gambling, alcohol, lotto, etc...

Porn is too basic also, particularly in a technologically advanced society. Dogs like seeing dogs, people like seeing people. Whether people see it as a vice or not, people want it and it's good for us.

Anyhow, I think too many lawmakers are porn customers to ever write any laws to shut it down.
