Gallery Submits with Sponsor Content Still a No NO ??

I was reading an article by Titmouse where she's covering new ideas for ways to promote your affiliate material, and she says that: "No, you can not use Sponsor content to create galleries", and that "you need to buy content".

Those of you that still do gallery submissions -- is that indeed still an issue? I know they won't allow you to submit a Free Hosted Gallery with your affiliate code, but I can't see them expecting you to sell a sponsor site using purchased content!

In my european mind, using sponsor content for free hosted galleries would be ok, BUT there is always the licensing issue with you guys in the US. Licenses have so many exemptions and prohibitions it's not funny at all.

What would corbin fisher, fratmen, randy blue, playboy, hustler et all say about using bought content when promoting their sites? I'd come up with the word "fraud" since the user expects to see something and buys that phantasy just because of that set he saw and then he does not get what he was promised (alas nobody will say that this is a set from the actual site he's buying).
    :-D

You should always ask your sponsor about using content for your own galleries from the FHG's. But almost all sponsors also offer free content for your own galleries. If it's not enough for you it's possible to ask for the member's area access. A lot of sponsors allow that.

Gin, I'm talking about sponsors that provide content, but the TGP owners won't allow you to submit galleries that you make with them. Their argument is that the content is over-saturated. From where I sit, it's like Devilish says: fraud ... by buying content you are presenting a model to the surfer that is NOT on that paysite.

Back when I did TGP submissions (stopped about 2 years ago), most TGP's (but not all) that I used accepted sponsor content without any logos on the pics, provided you had permission to use the sponsor content.

I found that TGP submissions were no longer worth the time and effort with The Hun being a pleasant exception.

Bec, then as i said try to ask your sponsors for an access into their member's area to get some unsaturated content. But as Fister said most of TGP's are not worth your efforts and time anymore.

Such a change in a few years too! I remember starting up in da biz like 7 years ago or so, and it was dang near mandatory to learn how to make galleries using the right thumb sizes, pic file size, number of outbound links, etc.

if you still submit galleries, you really need to have partner accounts that allow for multiple gallery submits per day, and make sure you are doing exactly that. TGP is all about BIG traffic and low conversions, so expect to be skirting the edge on sales vs bandwidth/partner account bills.

As per using sponsor content, I think these days its pretty normal, esp considering that most sites have exclusive content.

It's nowhere near as much of an issue as it used to be.

There was a time when there were so many subbers that the tgp owners would restrict them to using bought content, so that the owners could use the sponsor content for themselves.

Now that's the other thing that was getting pretty crazy there for awhile, needing partner accounts, and/or paying for page position for your submissions.

Well duh -- a little light goes on! :haha:

I knew about the first part of your sentence, but didn't carry the knowledge on through to its logical conclusion about the site owners! There was a lot of blacklisting going on too, and rules about you can't use "so and so" sponsor on galleries depending where you were doing the submission. I think that first really big wave of those that jumped ship because of the 2257 law totally messed up alot of tgp owners, what with I'm sure were hundreds of galleries suddenly "gone".
