Dawgy's right, the Westin is on the pricey side but as a Miami guy, I have an alternative for you, Bell.

There's Ramada Inn Hollywood Beach about a $5 cab ride from the Westin and could cut your lodging budget in half. Hope that helps.

I just now double checked to see what the rates might be
for the flight and hotel...
for arrival Thursday 8/12 and departure Monday 8/16
from Dayton, Ohio USA (airport: DAY)
roundtrip
to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida USA (airport: FLL)
(with a prefernece of leaving dayton early - before noon
and a preference for leaving florida for the return flight
around 11am-3pm range)

as of today's date on Expedia.com
the rates if booked today would be:

the cost for the flight only
(round trip): $247
for the departure and arrival flights - I prefer


the cost for the 3 different hotels
for arrival Thursday 8/12 and departure Monday 8/16


Holiday Inn - Hollywood Beach, Florida - - - 100. per night - $500.

Ramada - Hollywood Beach Resort - - - Deluxe Suite at 83. per night - $415.

Westin - Ft. Lauderdale - - - each night 231. for the 12-16 5 days 231x5 = $ 1155.


I'd stay at either of those... (smile)
I prefer whichever one Bec is staying at... (if possible)


it looks like that for flight (if booked now - cheaper
earlier it's done) and either the Ramada or Holiday (above)

247 + 500 = 747
and then I would get to GO to INTERNEXT.... (wink)

I thought it would be more... but even at just $747
I couldn't swing it right now... but I can wish and hope... (smile)
