Ah, that's like tinyurl.com. HA! We still use tinyurl to promote affiliate sites (some programs URL's have a hiccup in wordpress). That's great!

Doesn't twitter already use http://bit.ly? I've seen it in many tweets linking to FHGs and such.

I believe bit.ly is a third party service. Yeah I just checked whois and bit.ly is registered to Jessica McVea in NY, while twitter is registered to a Twitter,Inc in San Francisco.
