News broke today that WalMart will begin selling Apple's iPad tablet computers online this Friday, and in more than 2,300 of its retail stores by mid-November.

And a new study was released earlier this week that says "the iPad's adoption rate out of the starting gate was the "fastest ever" -- having surpassed both the original iPhone in 2007 and the DVD player in 1997." Estimates are that there are roughly 8.25 million units sold already.

This is HUGE, and it certainly substantiates optimizing sites for the iPad by making sure you use touch-friendly interfaces and offer videos in mp4 / quicktime instead of just flash.

Any one have other optimization tips for iPads?
