spam down a bit in Oct

Symantec released their monthly Spam and Phishing report for November that says spam was down nearly 3% in October, thanks to a few botnets being taken down. The 11-page PDF report outlines how leisure goods spam is up by 6% (Christmas spam is coming early this year), adult spam is up 2%, but internet related spam is actually down by 5%.

The report also give a checklist of "Dos and Don'ts", including:
- Do: Avoid publishing your email address on the Internet.
- Do: Always be sure that your operating system is up-to-date with the latest updates, and em-ploy a comprehensive security suite.
- Do not: Forward any virus warnings that you receive through email. These are often hoaxes.

one of my email addresses is down like 75% less spam. guess that botnet had me in triplicate - at least
