I'm seeing more and more sites becoming free. I don't remember what the site was. I joined a site about a month ago. They're gimmick is "Join for $1, 30 days, unlimited access." The content was hot. I joined. Sure enough, it was a flat $1.00. The site updated with a new video bi-daily and a new image set bi-daily. No hidden fees. I know it sounds too good to be true but it is.

I'm also seeing tube sites now charging. You can be free. But then you have to pay the tube site something like $20 a month. The free access, you can only watch like 3-5 videos. After that, you have to either join or leave the site.
My beef with this part is the tubes are monetizing income off pirated videos. But who am I to complain. I'm only 1 person.

Reading things like this does hurt. I'm seeing more and more companies who are new and have been around for decades fighting for income. How much harder can you fight? A good friend of ours finally gave up last week, shut down his sites, said screw the industry and went to work for a car dealership. He was worn out from all of the fighting and working day in and day out. Now I don't know how he ran his business. He was just a friend.

The question is... How much longer can the industry survive with things like these going on. Companies are folding and closing all over the place. Everyone is saying, "I'm glad it's not me." But in theory it could or will be you if companies continue doing this stuff.
We earn our living off profiting from adult entertainment. If tubes continue allowing free porn videos, pirated videos, and these free sites or nearly free sites continue to pop up... who's going to pay for porn? Why? You get it for free at these other sites. And people do talk. It's only a matter of time.

This is just my 2 cents of thoughts. Hope I'm not stirring a huge stink or a battle.

your right, i mean ive paid for porn even as an adult webmaster who gets free access to some sites sometimes, but i pay for what i cannot find on the internet "or enough of it" if i was promoting straight material anymore my biggest beef is those 30min or bigger video clips on some of those tube sites WTF!!!

There's one site I love on the straight side. It's CollegeFuckFest .com. I watch all their videos on Tube8, XTube, etc. And I get off to their 8-9 minute clips. There's no need for me to buy a membership to them when I can do this. And it's not one tube I see their clips on, it's a good 13 tubes. (I have them saved LOL).

Anyway back to topic...I worked briefly for a major tube site and could not understand how they made any money. They purchased massive amounts of content, then basically gave it away.

They charge for the upgraded membership (unlimited access), but when you can get off in 10 to 15 minutes, why pay?

I do believe however tthey did make money off their ads.
