This week Bing announced a number of new features on their community blog under the title 'More Helpful, Local, Social and Mobile".

One of the really interesting features is their Facebook integration into search results. "Starting today, if your search results include a specific link that has also been “liked” by someone in your Facebook network the link will be highlighted as “Liked” within Bing. "

To understand what that means, check out the attached image. You can see that in the results, it shows a facebook friend liking that site. That is a really powerful marketing line that will likely push clicks to that one site, even over better ranked results.

Now imagine if you have a very popular corporate facebook page, think of all the extra clicks that you will get on Bing as a result, even though those people may not even have seen your successful facebook campaign.

It just goes to show the growing importance of social networking sites like facebook, twitter, etc. If you can get a good following on those sites, you can now also get better SEO clicks!
