    Bing steals Google's results

Google says Microsoft's Bing search engine is stealing its results! And to prove it, they offered evidence they gathered after running a sting operation that shows Internet Explorer tracks what surfers find on Google, then uses that same data to tweak results on Bing.

Google broke this story at SearchEngineLand, and Bing responded and seemingly confirmed this!!

Check out the full story here: http://searchengineland.com/google-bing-is-cheating-copying-our-search-results-62914 - it gives detailed examples and proof, plus chats a bit about bing's toolbar and their TOS which state they are allowed to collect your browsing info to help improve their results.

So if this is actually happening, it seems pointless to do SEO for Bing, since they are just picking up results from Google anyway. So much for competition :uhoh:

I've always used Google but lately when I'm home I'll get through two pages of google searches and then get a 404 error. It's so odd. So I've started using Bing. Anyone else having this problem?

Also, I mentioned this before.... We bought adwords with Google 2 months ago. They also showed up on Bing. Perhaps they had a partnership of some sort. Not really sure. Didn't complain though.

Well, I'm not surprised. Why do the work yourself when you can just steal someone else's...Microsoft is really turning into a shitty company!

what a helluva a story. and it's hardly got any airplay in the wider press.

are google results that good? i've done a few searches ... not porn! ... lately and have been disappointed in the results.

is the google algorithm that good or is it just cuz the company is so dominant?
