Expanding my site and where to show pages

Hi guys I run a small but popular gay site dedicated to M/M spanking and would like to get more traffic and streaming sites in the hope of making more money ! Could any one advice?
Also where would you suggest I put my clips for sale pages-are they ok where they are? If anyone has the time to take a look I would be grateful!
here is the web site www.cp4men.net

    John,

I looked at your website and I can see many areas that could be improved. Please take these comments as constructive, I don't want to offend! Now, that being said, I think your website is extremely amateur, lacks a clear focus (surprisingly enough) and you may actually have some copyright issues to take care of.

First thing I noticed is that you have a disclaimer page which is improperly laid out using a scroll bar for no reason at all and has a very very small enter link. The biggest thing I see on that page is the cyberpatrol banners. It took me a few seconds before I finally saw the enter link. I am personally not a fan of entry pages, as I think they are a waste of time and lead to less people actually viewing your site, but if you do chose to use one, make sure that the disclaimer and cyberpatrol stuff is not the main focus, but instead the ENTER HERE link is!

So getting to the main welcome page, its like I am at a different site as it has a different background, its red (not blue) and its text is even in a different font. Confusing! Then I checked your welcome page video and was extremely disappointed to see that it had pretty much NOTHING in it. I have already agreed to your warning, now I have to sit thru a video which is 1/2 opening credits and 1/2 total family rated content? If I am a surfer looking for the corporal punishment content, I am gone by this point.

I did, however, not leave and stumbled upon your News Update page - WOW, now THAT is a WAY WAY HOTTER CLIP. If that was on the front page, I would be getting excited and wanting to see more, its exactly what I was expecting to see from a corporal punishment site.

So clicking on the next links, I like how the Padding and Caning page goes but I don't understand why the webmaster link there. It makes no sense. Then I went to the Spoankable Lads and Best Butts lnks...do you actually have a license to use that content, was it shot by you, or is this just some pics you are posting that you ripped from the internet? I fear its the last of these answers, which is a no-no when you don't have a license for these....plus there is no reason to have those pics there, its not the focus of your site and provides you with no real added benefit. Why not swap those for stills from your videos, and beside or under each, have a link to the full video in your clip store so you are encouraging surfers to buy that clip.

OK now here's where it gets confusing. I see videos for sale, clips for sale and a members access - this is too much and shows that THIS site has no clear focus. So as a surfer I don't know where to go, what to buy, etc...and I didn't even realise this was a membership site till I clicked on the "members entry" page.

Then I checked your clip store pages, your videos are hot but I don't understand why these videos / text descriptions are buried in the middle bar. If this site is being used for clip store sales, I would just drop the rest of the pages, make the clips for sale page your main page. That page would sell, its clear and focused, featuring exactly what you are trying to sell.

So overall, your content is hot...but I really think you need a pro to come in and design a new site for you. I think you need to decide what your site's direction is (a clip store, a dvd store or a membership site). If you want to do more than one, then why not make separate sites. Then you need to feature YOUR content right away and all over the place, like on the clips for sale page. And finally, get rid of that possibly illegal and distracting content, you don't need it!

I hope these comments help, I honestly do think you can become much more successful with your videos if you make some changes, and hope to see your site progress and really take off for you!

hi luke well that was quite a lengthy response and a bit of a wake-up call!
Many thanks for taking the time and trouble! Its not until you get an extra pair of knowledgeable eyes on the subject that you see where things can be improved on and where things are going wrong ! Although I have to say in my defense I am more leaning to the amateur side at this stage and getting some one to build me a website would not be cost effecting as they would probably want to manage it and for me that means a lack of control and spending more money .
As the moment Im using Rapiweaver on mac which is very easy for me. Ive also found some good software for improving on fonts namely Art text so hopefully more improvements will be on the way.
Meanwhile Luke Ive taken the bull by the horns and done more or less what you suggested and that is to get rid of the none-essential stuff and focus on what the site is all about-SELLING PORN!
When I first started the site I kind of wanted to be more than just selling the videos but I see now that all the extra pages where just side tracking buyers away from buying!
If you would care to have another look at the site I would be interested to see what you think now
Once again Luke many thanks for your time!

wow...this is a totally different site now. well done!!! Its now so much easier to see what you are offering, and WAY WAY more tempting to make a purchase.

I am glad that you made those changes, I really think that it will make a huge difference in your sales. As I said, your content is very hot, and it fits into a tight niche so I think that by highlighting it more effectively, you will be able to capture the hearts (and dollars) of corporal punishment fans :-)

A couple of comments really, your menu is a bit crowded in my mind, you really need to keep that for your members and potential members to use, so need to keep it fairly free of clutter.

Do you really need Models Wanted, Webmasters!, FAQ'S!, Links all at the top, they are not really relevant to getting people to join, after all your trying to sell your site so don't need to make the main menu area cluttered. You could easily put them at the bottom of the page.

Subscribe is a too generic term, people generally think it means spending money. Your actually offering people a monthly newsletter? so possible change Subscribe to say Newsletter, Get updates or something.

Clips for Sale, do you really need 3 pages of clips for sale showing, just change it to Clips for Sale in the menu and then if someone is interested they will click that, and when they click next they go onto page 2 and then page 3 automatically. Not really sure if people tend to miss page 1 when looking at something, some might, but generally people start at page 1.

Also any reason why you don't offering a recurring membership ? Your advertising a new clip every month, but actually making people physically renew monthly, not giving them the option to continue subscribing automatically.

    hi! daedal
    Many thanks for the input
Do you really need Models Wanted, Webmasters FAQ'S!!
Your probably right I'll shall defiantly review theses pages.. maybe shrink them down to 1 page if any at all.. I never get any response from models wanted anyway

"Subscribe is a too generic term"
I think maybe "Subscribe to news letter" maybe better

Clips for Sale, do you really need 3 pages of clips for sale showing?
Didn't think of that I'll have a busy day tomorrow

Any reason why you don't offering a recurring membership ?
Ive always been a bit nervous about this. I felt a lot of guys-including-myself get nervous about recurring memberships. as we all now its easy to stop one but Im sure there are those out there think there paying for the rest of there lives... what a shame However its easy to set up so I think I may give it a try

    Many thanks for your input
