    So GayPay is back...

I just received an email from the new owners of GayPay offering to re-activate our account and starting to promote their sites again.

They understand that there were (actually still are, as far as we are concerned) outstanding payments and debts by the previous owner and they are willing to work out a deal.

So the question is, should I just write off the owed money and don't work with them anymore or should I try to "work out a deal"? Can anyone share some experiences with the new owners?

The new owner is DeeCash. They (or he: Deepak) own(s) a huge number of straight and gay programs. I am not sure if DeeCash has a better reputation than SOBV - but at least they DO pay affiliates. BUT... that's what SOBV used to do as well.

They currently own the following gay programs:

    Gay Gravy = 38 sites
    Gay Pay = 13 sites
    Stud Pay = 5 sites
    Boyfriend Bucks = 13 sites
    Archive Cash = 1 site
    Pride Access = 103 sites
    TOTAL = 173 SITES

In the email they list these programs as the newly acquired properties:

    www.GfProfits.com
    www.NicheCastle.com
    www.ArchiveCash.com
    www.GayGravy.com

    www.SkinTraffic.com
    www.TrannyPay.com
    www.PrideAccess.com
    www.GayPay.com

    www.NichePay.com
    www.ChubbyChecks.com
    www.FetishDiamonds.com
    www.StudPay.com

    www.RehabDollars.com
    www.TastyDollars.com
    www.Triplexbonanza.com

I would like to know whether others feel it's OK to promote them again, with the new ownership and all.

    Here's my thing...

DeeCash probably acquired hundreds of thousands of dollars in bad debts owed by GayGravy, etc. How are they going to recup at least 3yrs (that I know of) worth of debts?

Thus, what I see them doing is offering a 'settlement' to resolute the payment problems.

Again, what these affiliate programs do not understand which really gets under my skin is your affiliates are your 'marketing agents' for your sites. They are promoting you to send you traffic. Affiliates have to pay for their bandwidth, domains, hosting, time, etc. They have overhead costs as well. If you say you don't your lying. You have time! Your taking time to promote them!

If they don't pay you and don't realize that, why waste your time promoting them? Even if they offer a settlement does that still compensate for at least all your time? We wrote off a lot of bad debts today when we did our taxes and came out ahead.
But yet, I would want the satisfaction of receiving payment from them on the money that's owed to you. The money you deserve.

It's kind of like your between a rock and a hard place. Me personally, I would rather not receive payment, write it off, and have them take my earnings to affiliates who worked harder who deserve beyond a settlement.

And even if someone went back to promoting them as an affiliate, who's to say you won't be paid again?

At least they do pay their affiliates. Which is the core thing when running an affiliate program
EuroRevenue €42 PPS or 70% Revshare | HentaiCentro $35 PPS or up to 70% Revshare!

There are plenty of other programs to promote out there, rather than reactivating an old program that has let you down. Deecash may pay, but its hardly the most reliable program out there.

Deecash is on most of the 'don't promote' lists for a reason. Shady x-sells, higher than average chargebacks, just a few things that lots of affiliates complain about when promoting deecash sites.

If I was actively promoting them and getting paid then I may continue, but because GayPay etc stopped paying, its silly imo to go back to them with a new company, that doesn't really have a proven track record of caring for affiliates.

When we bought both BritishBucks and LatinoBucks, we paid all outstanding affiliate debts. That's a standard part of any takeover deal: agree to a price, then payout debts first and give the remaining money to the old owner (SOBV).

I find it difficult to think of working with these sites / programs since they are starting off on a bad foot. Maybe if enough people pressure them into paying old debts, they will?????

One other thing, most buyouts are structured to pay the old owner over a period of at least 12 months...so if you actively promote these sites, you are DIRECTLY funding SOBV.

DeeCash appears to basically have bought the assets, not the company as a whole. So they have the sites, but not the debts or legal problems. Even saying they own the sites is pushing it - the sites are still registered in SOBV's name (check the whois). I've heard through the grapevine the sites' registration is locked by court order. So what DeeCash has isn't even the sites, but apparently the right to operate them and possibly own them at some point in the future. Given DeeCash's situation, I completely understand why they're not paying back debts - they don't actually have full control of the sites yet. Paying off old debt would be really stupid of them 'cause they could lose control in the coming months - depends on how court proceedings go. That means you have to be a bit careful - I'd definitely go with PPS, not rev share in a situation like this. Get paid up front!

Even with that rather precarious scenario I'm going to do a little promotion of the sites. I already have a lot of posts up for the Gay Pay sites, so I might as well get paid for them. But I'll be doing PPS and watching closely for problems.

I'd consider promoting these sites again if back commissions were paid 100% to everyone; but that's not happening. Thanks for the good comments. It looks like "avoid" is the right decision.
