When You Build A New Site Do You Choose..

Your content or sponsor first?

For me it tends to depend on the type of site im building for example if im doing a free site ill generally go for the sponsor but if im going for an AEN site then ill choose my content first and work my sponsors around that.

So how about the rest of you do you have a 'method' when it comes to building new sites?

If it is a niche site then I definitely choose the content first, but if it is a more mainstream site I design the site then purchase the content to suit the site.

Content is king, I go with that first unless there is some awesome new sponsor niche that deserves the extra attention.

I've done both -- picked up content and then design a site ... especially if I've picked up some content that I can roll over into another niche, but I've also grabbed up a domain name simply because I liked it and then buy content to go in it.

Personally, I pretty much work with what turns me on. I can really get into working on a site where the guys do nothing for me. A while ago I had to do three feeder sites for a black guy paysite, and it was horrible. It took me forever to write the copy and my heart just wasn't in it.

In the business world, I don't have a lot of choice. I pick the niches that I think are needed and that will sell, and then, I go looking for content.

Same here.
I can always create anything better if I know what I will be using/doing...so, I decide what (if's it's a nitche or whatever) then I choose the content and go from there.

It really depends on the niche. What I'm building right now requires hard-to-find content, and so I'm slowly, slowly, gathering content for it. :bow:

it depends. if i have a great sponsor, i go with the sponsor. if i find great content, and there's enough, i get the content and if i can't find a sponsor, i make an avs site.

It depends on what I come across...


If I am content shopping just to stay on top of what's out there
and see something really hot and fresh - I'd grab it and find the
related sponsor that also caught my eye...


It's been awhile since I did either actually. But back when
I did crank out pages specifically to promote a sponsor
then that is how I'd approach it...


I adore content shopping... that would be one of the DREAM
JOBS for me - to be a content scout for a sponsor... or for
individual webmasters that just didn't have time to content
shop, yet they want to always have a new FRESH supply of
content to put to work for them...
