Browser news: Chrome winning, IE losing

The latest stats on browser usage from NetMarketShare for May 2011, and they show Chrome growing faster than any of the other browsers with Internet Explorer (IE) continuing its slow decline. And whats even more shocking is that Microsoft pushed out IE 9 in its updates to users in May, yet May actually saw IE’s overall usage drop by 0.84%

The first graph indicates usage share in May 2011, and the second is a timeline of browser usage since Oct 2009. That second one gives a clear indication that Chrome is on a winning streak, at the expense of both IE and FF.

I think MS made a big mistake not releasing IE 9 for older versions of Windows, as we all know a lot of people and companies are still using XP.

I've just started using chrome.. I might be a little slow with that, but I'm absolutely loving it, with the pre-loading pages.

I like it better, yes. I was using firefox before I switched. The speed and functionality of Chrome is better to me, but some pages that look perfectly fine in firefox aren't designed for chrome. Its still new enough that I often navigate to pages with broken features in chrome where I have to open up firefox to use them.

Go Chrome Luke, give it a week and get use to the minimalistic approach, short cuts, etc - you'll find that you actually get to see webpages after you remove all the NETSCAPE clutter that you thought you needed. FF is a pos imho.

OK big question. Is there any thing like AdBlockerPlus for Chrome? I love that add-on, I have it set to block so much stuff now

And the best part is that adding more then two apps won't make your browser crash like FF

I am also loving Chrome now that RoBoform is finally compatible with it!

That as the only thing that was holding me back.

Ya the Google team moves fast, typically if they don't have something they will shortly and it will be better then it ever was before

i really should be using safari or chrome i dunno why im still sticking with firefox .... its slow it crashes blah
