Trades are ridiculous but still looking

When I first started my blogs Bec, PonyBoy, PocoLoco, Gay Story Man and a few others from the forums did link trades with me and my developing blog network.

Since then I have tried Links Organizer and Linkspun as well as posting on the forums (like I'm doing again now) and have been very disappointed.

80% or more of the requests I get on Linkspun are spam or crap and most of the links through Links Organizer people cheat the system using link text hidden in the code but visible nowhere on the page so every link has to be checked manually. Also those two systems are based on PR of a site and webmasters want links to their sites only from sites with high PR regardless of traffic or content.

The people I mentioned in the first have left the links to me up for over 2 years and are great to work with. I'd like to find more trade partners like them. Honestly, they are better than I am. I am slow sometimes to respond and have dropped the ball more than once setting up new sites then forgetting them.

If anyone here has some quality sites and would like to trade links with me please say so here or PM.

I have decided to focus my attention on 6 main blogs for regular updates and a few niche sites that I'll get to when I have spare time. All have hand written content and two have decent traffic (subjective assessment).

I also have some splogs that are sitting idle until the domains expire. If anyone wants to trade with them or you want to buy the domain from me I'm game for that too.

Enough of my ranting and begging.

Linkspun is a great source. You have to search. Don't be shy there. We've gotten some great traffic by working through that and working out trades.

A suggestion I have for you is to keep posting here, bump your threads. Continue letting people know your looking for trades. Put a "Contact Me For Link Trades" text on your site and have it link to a form, email, etc. that your looking for trades.

I would think that will help you, I've done that and it helped me.

Hey Paul,

Thanks for mentioning me. I believe trades are for life, not for a few weeks or months. By keeping links up, sites can grow bigger together. So, thanks for keeping links up yourself as well.

I share your opinion about Linkspun. Most of the users are willing to take, but refuse to give. I only found a few valuable link trades on Linkspun.

So far, emailing owners of good looking and up-to-date blogs gave me the best results.

I only partially care about PR.

Most of my blogs are PR0 so they are indexed but don't have a ton of incoming links.

What bothers me are guys with unranked sites (generally meaning brand new or some deep page) that only want links from my best sites. That seems to be what 80% or more of the ppl on linkspun want.

I will be happy to trade with your PR0 sites and will set something up with you soon.

i'm happy to make good trades also!! i'm just getting started but i think my sites look pretty professional. you can see where my links are place on dickden . com / ?ag=1, my blog. i will be placing some on manprowl . com soon and i am working on a forum also.
