    Lion vs Bear

    Ugh!

Does anyone here that's a MEAT eater live with a berry and nut eater?

I live with a bear (someone who can eat only snacks...i.e...Nuts, berries and salads)

    I'm a total MEAT needer...not eater...needer. I need protein!

And, naturally I have NO weight problem. Why? Because I know what my body needs....meat! (patatoes too...but, will eat anything without the tats...)

My partner always suffers from weight gain...why? He's a saled and nut freak.

What are you...the Lion or the Bear? Cow, grazer...or hunter (meat)?

ha ha dude, I can't help ya on this one. I don't eat meat, and haven't for 12 years.

I did try to eat a hamburger a few months back. I swear I wished I would DIE! Between the throwing up, hurting stomach. Maybe I should have started off with chicken huh? I get all my protein from tofu, and soy. If you (the cook) know how to make it correctly, a lot of people don't know it's not meat and will eat the hell out of it.

My step dad HATES veggies. So I made him a "chicken dish" with tofu. He ate 3 plats and took some to work for lunch the next day. Still has no clue till this day that there wasn't any meat in the whole thing. ha ha It's hard for me to eat out here. Because everything here is fried with all this breadding stuff in bacon fat, or some anamil product. Or they have some meat in it to season it.

Almost the only veggie food here is a salad or french fries. I love salad, but sometimes you just want something diffrent. That you don't have to cook.

Ah, but see that's the deal...I do cook tufu and mock duck. (lOVE mock duck by the way)

We do always eat vegi/soy burgers and such like that...

However, "I" can still "feel" the dif.
In other words when we cook all that Lee likes, eat the salads, soy burgers...etc, for a few weeks or whatever, "I" feel like shit, or semi ok....then, every now and again, Lee does buy me some meat (Yumm) so, I cook my burger (bbq) or porkchops for the week and I have more energy...I swear, it's true.

Is there really enuf protein in the foods that are only supplements for it, or am I just an animal???

Well yes, and no. Like all things, depends on how much you eat, vers body size. I tend to eat a lot of beans, tofu, peanut butter.

Sometimes I do notice that I develop dark circles arround my eyes. A simple iron pill fixes it right up along with rest.

I don't understand how on earth anyone could not eat meat.
    It's faaaaaaaantastic.
Hamburgers, steak - all the millions of different wonderful kinds of steak!! - and turkey and chicken and pork and ... *salivate*... gahhhhhhh.

    Even seafood is amazing.

God made animals out of meat so that we would eat em! I'd simply die without it.

Meat. Potatos. Tabasco Sauce. That's all I need.

Ahhhhh, YES! Right on down to the Tabasco!
I LOVE animals...however I also LOVE meat, good food etc...

What it tells me is, I was born into a time where people take all that we have (naturally) for granted...

In other words, back in time (say late 1700's and mid 1800's) You ate meat!!!

Why, because it WAS good for you and you HAD to.

Now, where we live in times where animals are abused and food is sold too fast (McDonals etc) everyone has lost the sense of what it means to eat the way we should.

Yes, vegies and HOME GROWN where the BIG thing then...and food was "right", chicken was fresh, beef was natural...people were also dieing of ?????? You name it!

So, my point (and I have one) We do what we do, and take care of ourselves, the best way we know how.

I just wondered how a lion could live with a bear...maybe I should have said "how does a lion live with it's prey?"

Having said that I hope all vegi's will understand that peopele that love meat maybe "need" this...that in order to maintain a "healthy" life, it's what we need...

I don't at all mind vegetarian's. 'cept for the militant ones who scowl and yell and mock and spit at you when you eat meat. That annoys me. You do your thing, I'll do mine.

I tried vegetarianism for a short while. For shits and giggles to see how it'd work out. And I hated it. And all I could think about everyday was bacon.

I was a vegetarian for a while but then gave it up just before I headed to central america since I knew it would be too hard to be a good vegetarian there. I actually did not miss meat, I lost some weight and felt pretty good most of the time. But now I am a committed meat eater again and I LOVE IT!!!

    cheers,
    Luke

I do not mind people eating meat arround me. Hell, I'll even cook it for them. I just don't eat it myself. I grew up on a farm and those little guys where my pets.

I used to feed them by hand, sit with them when they where sick, ect. To me it's like eating my pet dog. I couldn't do that either. I used to eat meat, until I came to dinner one night, and asked my mom where betty was. She laughed and said your eating her. Betty was my baby, I helped (well watched) her be born, and she was my pet. I got so sick and upset until I can't do it anymore. I ate chicken and fish for a while after that, but I don't eat that now anymore either.

Awww see, when I hear that I do understand.

You sound like the "Pet Psychic". Ever see her show?
She can hear animals...could since she was a kid...But, while she was a kid, she had pretty much the same thing happen to her. When she found out she ate one of her friends, she no longer could hear the animals. It took her years and years to be able to hear them again.
I love that woman! And, yeah even though I do eat meat, I can see where someone might be able to talk to or hear all animals...

Having said that though, I just feel that since most animals also eat other animals, there is a natural coarse to things/life.

We're (humans) not greater, superior, at the top, better than other animals...just living beings, like all other living beings.
Each one as important as the other (some just taste better……j/k)

The mixed metaphors got me a bit confused. The bears I know (as in gay bears) are all carnivores.

Over Memorial Day I spent the weekend at a remote cabin that was an hour drive from any store, and we did group meals for 28 faeries. Between food allergies, reactions to HIV meds, Atkins Nazis, vegans and veggies the meal planning was a nightmare!

I asked our host, who goes through this meal planning business every holiday weekend, "Why to guys with strange dietary regiments drift towards the faerie community?" He said, "No one else will have them."

Most veggies I know live off cigarettes, chips and vodka.
