    Google PR

Google did an update today to the URL that is used to check PR values on sites, causing plugins and PR tools to stop functioning correctly. I did some research on this and found an article that said PR values are not affected by this change, its just that the tools people use will need updating.

So don't panic! PR is still there, and in a few days once the tools are updated you can get the proper PR rankings again.

My PR has gone down the drain with Panda and actually I stopped bothering about Google and their fucked up system. I can spend my time in much more useful ways.. like picking my nose for example. :uhoh:

PR has not been (very) relevant anymore for quite a long while as far as I understand it. I never really paid much attention to it. What do people still use it for?

It is still used but its not like the old days when PR meant everything. I think now, its used mainly as an indicator for google relevance, particularly when doing link trades.

FYI, SEO Quake has updated their browser plugin to use the correct URL so you can see proper pagerank with it, you can get it from http://www.seoquake.com/

Ah, I did wonder where it had gone. I thought it was just BlokeToys (that was doing some odd things with Google for a while) but I noticed it on client sites and knew there was a problem somewhere.

Thanks for the seoquake tool, wasn't aware of that one - it looks good
