Feedback Wanted-Mansites Redesign

I really like the colour choices, the blues are very nice. I am not a fan of seeing the head cut off the model on the left side, though.

Will the full tour have anything else below it? Tours work best if there is a big selection of images to look at

Look at the original www.mansites.com in comparison to this new mock-up. We know we have some changes ahead but could really use some critiques from the gay community.

I agree with Luke ... don't cut off that guys head, or replace him with a horizontal of two men - or three - having gay sex. I personally think you're showing too many single guys. The blue dude needs to be bigger and kissing another guy and fade it down into the background-- it should be a suggestion of an image, not a prominent one. Enlarge the black guy so that his head touches bottom of nav bar, or goes over a bit of the sneak peak nav image. Do same thing with the guy in the jock strap.

Either soften the corners of the text boxes with a curve or perhaps bring in the same arrow bottom element that is used in the top box. It will help alleviate the boxiness of the design.

The blue is ok, a bit over the top, but not bad. Definitely reads easier than the current design does on the white. Try a gradient that starts up top with a lighter blue, keep that current blue thru the center and then moves down into black at the base/footer and see what you think.

Also the arrow indent could be used to help guide the eye travel. For instance, bring in that arrow indent to the left side of the tons of niches text block. Put the same arrow cut at the top pointing down under the #1 Male text on the left. (so the medium blue cuts into the darker blue). This will take the eye from left to right and down.

My basic sense of the design is that it's a newer designer trying to stay within "tables" and afraid to let stuff overlap. The slice cuts don't care what's there, it will still slice nicely! And do try to have the text boxes hold actual 12- 14 pt font text on the html, and not be an image of the text. The larger text as an image is fine. It will help with SEO.

I am gay and have two gay websites, although I am a fan of blue, like bec said its a wee bit strong. If I am being totally honest, which is what you want, I prefer the old design.

The old design if fresh bright and is a refreshing change from most sites you find on the net. Yes make some changes to the old one, for example the models in the new design would look great in the old one. The original models look a little washed out and clinical, were the new models look like men that you would like to meet or maybe have met.

I would also say that there are too many text boxes covering the models, which ultimately is what gay men are looking for. Personally I like familiarity knowing where to find everything, seeking and watching porn is a relaxing pass time maybe at the end of the day. You dont want to have to start finding your way around a site again, you are more to give up and go to your second favorite site.

Hi Trish and Chris. Love the site. I agree with Luke, I think it looks fantastic! I really do like the layout. I don't really have any other complaints other than what Luke said about the guy with part of his head cut off Other than that, FANTASTIC job!

I personally think the blue is too bold and distracting.

The first thing I think is "wow, that's blue" rather than looking at any of the text or images.

I'm personally a huge fan of blue, I just think in that version it's a little too in your face.

And of course what others say about the guys head being cut off.

I actually prefer the original version now up because I like white backgrounds. I know that is a personal preference though and everybody is different.
