The Daily Mail reported that Apple plans to start using hydrogen cells in its iPhones, iPads and iPods to produce lighter batteries that could last for weeks.

Apple recently applied for new patents, saying that its proposed hydrogen fuel batteries would allow Apple products to weigh less and last for weeks without being recharged. This is following up on patents filed in October for 'lighter and more efficient hydrogen fuel cells'.

A technology jump like this may be exactly what Apple needs to maintain its cutting edge in mobile phone and device technology, it would certainly add a new compelling reason to upgrade to a new iPhone or iPad!!!
