    Blog / Wordpress Help

    First and foremost, happy new year!

    I have some questions for you blog guru's, hopefully you can help me.

    1. On blog posts, how can you remove your username from showing on posts in wordpress? (Example in image below)

    2. How do you remove comments all together on your blog? As if comments didn't even exist. Typically on blogs it will say "Comments are Closed" or it will show the fields for one to leave a comment.

    In you admin panel go to Appearance, then Editor and open the Main Index

    Now look for any or all of these
    <?php _e('author&#58;'); ?> <a href="<?php the_author_url(); ?>"><?php the_author(); ?></a>
    and carefully edit them out. That removes the calls for author info.

    In the Admin panel go to Settings >> Discussion

    On that page untick every box and put a tick back in this one: An administrator must always approve the comment ... and save.

    Oh, you want it completely to not show a comment box option?

    Then try looking for these and edit them out on the index, category, page template and on the single page php's in your admin/appearance/editor

    <?php comments_template(); ?>
    <?php _e('comments:'); ?> <?php comments_popup_link('No Comments', '1 Comment', '% Comments'); ?>
    Just be sure you make a backup copy of any pages you want to edit onto your hard drive before you start deleting stuff

    THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

    All meanwhile I was doing these edits, you know... The more I look at the source codes for wordpress.... You could do almost anything! It's kind of unreal. In a way.

    This is what we're working on / have been working on: http://jaysroom.com (It's becoming a paysite with all of the non-exclusive videos purchased over the years).
