Using Facebook

Hey Folks...

Happy New Year to ALL!

Okay so I just wanted to know if anyone is successfully using Facebook to promote their content/sites?

If so, do you have any useful suggestions.

This may sound dumb, but I find Facebook a bit confusing to setup and use. (I saw you roll your eyes! LOL)

I have heard that some folks have used it successfully, but that you must be very careful about using only PG-13 or so content/text.

Has anyone setup a FANPAGE? Is it difficult to do?

We have a business page and a business profile.
Facebook is a great source of traffic, getting a link on, etc. However, it's more of a "fan site" or a "community." It's one of those things that you have to keep up with.

We post the very same posts / updates etc. on both pages. What I did was create a profile. I added friends, sent requests, sent out in an email blast telling our opt-in's about us being on facebook. Once I got that going I created the business page.

DO NOT SHOW ANY X pictures. Don't even show one strand of pubic hair. They will shut you off quick. I also used the words, "John Doe getting fucked." They shut us off and it took about 2 weeks to get the profile back from being shut off. It was a hassle.

When your working with social network sites, remember you don't want to sound like spam. When you post, make the posts look and sound as if you - a person - wrote them as in your hot and heavy over this guy or these guys. Think of yourself I guess as a pirater would. They share their porn because they like it, not because they profit from it. You have to use that mind set. If you do that, you'll do well.

Update at least once a day.
