Improving GWW: Suggestions

So we have had this board only a week, and i dont particularly want to start changing anything drastic, but wanted to ask everyone what they would like to see change, or what they like / dislike about the board..

Would you like the design to change?
Banners?
Competitions?

One thing that Bec & I were discussing was a sticky thread where we can post & view all the recent program changes, openings & closures.

I was also thinking of putting up an auction site as there is no gay adult assets auction site that I know of. I started developing it but never got it finished as the software I was testing was buggy.

Obviously, Fabian from Manwin didn't get rich by hanging out on GWW or GD.

What did he do from 2008-present (summer of 2008 when GWW went offline for a month and Patti leap-frogged GWW with GD), while we were posting here and there?

I'd like to see a map-based resource list - of members, of content providers, of vendors by type. Google Map e.g. with pins for LAT/LNG, so we know where shooters are, where coders are, where writers are...

"Job Board" - members looking for services, offering services. First as check-boxes (think: html form list) that we can search on... then with some kind of action submit button, so someone having a skill can express availability to someone looking for that skill, or someone needing something can PING someone having some on going talent or product.

Calendar of events - trade shows, awards.

The CP PM thing is clumsy as hell.

I'd still like to see a consumer side to this, so consumers can find us members and our sites and DVDs, rather than Pirate tube sites.

I'd also like it if one or more of the big pay site producers, would create a self-publish option for us really small studios...

For us who don't have enough hands to buy and build our own infrastructure from scratch, maintain, do SEO, affiliate maintenance...

For us to sign-up and create a rev share pay site, sharing hardware and software they already have set up, where we small studios just deal with shooting and uploading new content to our template site, to a fill-in-the-blanks template.

A DVD sales site and DVD-R On Demand service, for consumers and stores. PornTeam is political - they don't like my stuff, and they've told me so, eventho I've sold 7,500 DVDs of my self-produced content, and on GWW and GD people say how awesome they are... I filled 2 customer orders - repeat customers, one who's up to 61 different titles with me - before even getting around to doing this posting here this morning.

There was a time in 2006 that a disliked, disgraced, and disrepubatle member here was pretending to represent my studio and content to some vendors - to webmasters like Luke (who paid him cash for some of my content), and PornTeam, and a couple of others...

If I recall right, he was involved in a scam billing dispute with PT, as I got CC'd on some e-mails... and then I got my submitted DVDs back in the mail.

But my DVD lines are viewable below in the links in my signature.

Since I am an old, one-man shop (since 1993); any promotion of my DVD lines would be appreciated, as it helps pay my travel costs, around the US, UK, EU.

I think you should also talk to Bjorn about merging these 2 webmaster boards.

Most of the members are the same, threads get repeated, then lost. Some have the same usernames, some different.

Bjorn hasn't changed his pic in 4 years. Patti is almost invisible. Big difference from the rush to compete with GWW in 2008, after a lot of drama in 2007.

The purpose of these forums shouldn't just be text threads about current bitches.

What gets lost is the networking and resource sharing - buying and selling of goods and services that we all could use in day-to-day business growth.

Actually no, most of the members are NOT the same, at least not anymore. While many of the GD users have an account here, not all are active here, and vice versa. Merging the two boards ... I really hope that doesn't' happen because basically one board needs to close so that all of that board's members have no choice but to use the one remaining, or not use a gay market focused forum at all.

And that's exactly what makes GWW the best place to be to do business. Here GWW members find support, excellent marketing tutorials, plenty of business related threads, and people willing and wanting to network with fellow members.

The "bitch" threads here are few and far between because that isn't the sort of environment that is healthy for any forum, and such posts/posters have been actively discouraged from posting here by the previous owners and support staff.

Personally I feel that board drama, verbal abuse, accusations and out right attacks on companies and individuals generates too much tension and forces the members to either choose sides, or leave the board altogether.

This isn't high school people. We all need to act like adults ... and mature ones at that... when participating on boards that were setup to help people achieve their business goals. Those that want to do business don't feel they can in a "bitchy" negative environment.

Ok, I'll get off my soapbox. Now lets all get back to discussing other features you'd like to see GWW implement to make your day to day job easier!

I wish there was just one board , I get confused what questions I've answered where. - LOL

not fond of the "lavendar" ( or pink , or anything stereotypical gay - LOL ) but then "blue" is seemingly everywhere.

there's really not much I would suggest to change ( people still private me when they want something and/or email me at my website. - LOL ) GWW is still the pinnacle of excellence having the most knowledgable people in the adult industry. ( interpreted: the bitches are on the other board! - LOL )

I agree with you Bec..there have been very few "bitch" threads at all on here. There has always been good information posted by you, Luke, and other members.

When I need drama..or having insomnia problems I always turn to gfy for that!
Here's hoping we do NOT lose this board. Would be a really dumb idea if it happened.
