Sony Ericsson is no longer! As of this morning, Sony completely bought out Ericsson for ~$USD 1.1 Billion, and now owns the mobile phone production unit completely.
A Sony spokesperson has already confirmed a change in name too, to “Sony Mobile Communications”. Speculation is that Sony will integrate parts of its PlayStation gaming systems into mobiles and tablets, as well as integrate parts of its smartphone technology into its TVs and PCs.
