Post Bad Apple - It's time to face the human cost

It's time to face the human cost of my Apple addiction -- and yours.

When Apple announced its last-quarter numbers on Jan. 24, you would have thought Steve Jobs had risen on the third day....[..snip..]

A man in China is strapped into an electric chair. You are sitting here, in front of a button. If you press the button, the man will die. You won't see it, and you'll never meet any of his family or friends. But you will get a large amount of money, or something else your heart desires.

    Do you press the button?

Or do you tap the screen?
    :shrk:

But Sony is not a member of the Fair Labor Association. Apple is the only tech company that is.

    Here Gumdrop -

FLA President Auret van Heerden said after his first visits to Foxconn's facilities this week that the operation is "first class," adding that conditions are "way, way above the average of the norm," according to Reuters. Van Heerden spent the last two days visiting the facilities as part of an independent audit requested by Apple.

Maybe when all the other tech companies of the world join the Fair Labor Association then we will have something to compare the working conditiond at Apple to? Hmmm...

Yup. Just as others type on their Dell.

(Dell outsources to the same company as well. As does Microsoft. As does... )

Just in case anyone wants a list of just the major companies, here ya go -

    Acer
    Amazon
    Apple
    Cisco
    Dell
    Gateway
    HP
    Intel
    Microsoft
    Motorola
    Nintendo
    Noki
    Samsung
    Sony
    Toshiba
    Vizo

I guess Apple being the largest company in the US (based on market value) and having close to $100 billion in the bank, they will be the company that gets called out.

When the other tech companies join the Fair Labor Association then we can all compare apples to apples. Or should I say Apple to... :innocent:

Lloyd, really. You above all others you should know that two wrongs don't make a right. Apple should of done the right thing the first time. Anyway Foxconn just raised wages 25% and now you'll have to pay more for your products of slavery.:rice:
Wonder what the workers will have to give up.:cold:
