Have you ever built a site where you have seemingly done everything right, but Google just won't give it any love?

One tube in particular has been live for over a year now. One word .tv domain that is great for SEO. Full length videos that we own (straight videos; gay are just sponsor promo vids) mixed with 3-5 minute sponsor vids. On-page SEO that isn't overdone so it looks organic. Google Analytics shows a 20-30% bounce rate depending on the day, 8 to 10 minutes on-site, etc. Return visitors are close to 30% ... everything looks great. In fact, it's the best analytics I've ever personally had on a free site. Hell, it even converts straight traffic really good! I've also used linkspun to get lots of incoming A-B-C links.

It's been hell building traffic though. I've spent countless hours trying to figure out what could have gone wrong. I've had sites that I've slapped together before that ramped up on G traffic very quickly. This site just lags and lags.

It doesn't seem to be penalized because close to 9,000 pages are indexed and it does get G traffic, but just a trickle. What's really weird is secondary search engines usually suck for me, but Yahoo and Bing traffic is pretty good. Just no Google love.

Has this ever happened to you? If so, what did you do to overcome it? I can't think of anything else to do.

Jesse, try get those Google +1 clicks. Might help? Does sound weird to me that google is being funny with your site thought, especially with stats like that!

You can't use google +1 on adult sites.

Without going through the site here's a couple questions I have:

1. Are videos arranged via niche categories
2. If they are, are you using keyword meta tag for that niche on THAT page, and using the same niche keywords ON the page in the text. In other words, is every niche page using its own keyword meta tag or a universal one?

Hi guys, I didn't mean to create this thread and bail. Comcast decided to deny me internet for 72 hours.

Sam: I don't have G+ button because it seems like on other sites nobody clicks them, so I didn't bother. Worth a try though. We do have social sharing, just not the obvious G+ button that a lot of sites have. Even the Facebook button doesn't get that much action. I imagine a lot of people are afraid to tie their personal profiles to porn. Hell, even I rarely ever use my last name in this industry outside of business cards and the very few people I've added as Facebook friends that do the same work as me.

Bec, everything is broken down by category with all of the right keywords and all. Good SEO love from the other engines, just not Google. It almost seems like there is some kind of soft penalty (if they exist?) the site may have gotten at some point.

Also, bec, can you drop me an email? I tried replying to an email from you awhile back and my reply bounced. I confirmed it was the right address. I have no idea what happened.
