Porn MUSIC

I write/produce electronic music (too many genres and subgenres to name) and I would LOVE to license some of it for use in porn movies. Anyone have any ideas on how to go about it? I know emails about things like this to the big companies usually get ignored, so I have no idea.

I'll post a few links to sample mp3's if anyone is interested in (or would be willing to ) listening to some and giving me some feedback

Why not just offer it as royalty free music that can be purchased for various media projects? You can advertise to mainstream and porn markets... something like BBM

I do music for videos... it's pretty fun, but it's not nearly as easy as most people think.

the biggest mistake people make is that they think people wanna hear their music... they don't.... porn music is really just there to cover up the ambient background noises made when editing from one shot to another. It's certainly not there to add to the drama.

What's important is doing music that's textural and innocuous. I've seen porn where the music was so bad and so loud, you had to watch the video on mute.

One last thing. with programs like Acid and Garage Band around these days, just about anyone can make music that goes nowhere for free, so what you do will have to be incredibly good while not being noticeable to people who want to ignore it.

But good luck... i really like doing the music I do... it's fun.

I could but the market is saturated. I would prefer to work with just one or two production companies exlusively or something if I could.

Ok here is a song I wrote a while back that I still love, I don't know why. It's off key and over phased and badly mixed. But there is something about it that makes me smile. I usually try to come up with a story and make a song for it. This one is supposed to represent a tribe of humans travelling to a distant planet, then throwing a party when they arrive. Then their communication with the alien natives starts and everyone joins in one big party! Yeah i'm a huge dork. See if you can get that from the different parts! It's not finished btw.

Yep, right here downunder.

I have leveraged myself into Brisbane's biggest swinger's club Mike's Place.

If is PERFECT for use during the week for production (like 7 bedrooms, large general area, 8 person spa, the works) once all cabled up and stuff.

So you admit that you are incredibly good at writing music? Why don't you post a sample so I can hear it?

I don't agree with you about it not adding anything but a cover-up. Music can set a mood, add to drama, and make scenes in ANY type of movie more appealing (or less). Maybe that is what bad directors use it for, but good directors DO use it to set the mood of their "films" porn or not.

I'm not incredibly good, but I don't think I'm horrible either. I don't do sites like Acid (thats for premade loop music) but I did mp3.com when it was there and got over 25,000 downloads, sold cd's, got into the top 10 on some of the electronic charts, and made a little bit of good money before they died.
