For the first decade or so, selling .zips of pictures was a pretty big deal on the Internet.

I have shot with over 300 models in the past 25 years, and I have many thousands of pictures.

I choose to sell my pictures as printed paperback books, and eBooks (.PDF, .ePub, .mobi), not .zips. I've done newspaper and magazine work since high school, and with the evolution of newspaper and magazine printing from .pdfs in the mid-1990s, .pdfs are a common occurrence, with lots of tools.

There's great opportunities to sell books on the Internet, by program sponsors with equally great affiliate programs.
