Always remember, the most important domain name to much of the adult industry is AEBN.com .
Doesn't have gay in it, or bareback or pig or broke.

His post made no such suggestion. We post all kinds on non-porn stuff on these boards all the time.
This is a community. We can discuss just about anything here. The only thing we ask is when it fits into an appropriate sub-forum to put it there. I am not of the opinion that a discussion on gaypride.com has to go in the mainstream forum. He does not own the domain and did not ask for ideas on monetizing it in the mainstream realm. This particular forum is the general chit-chat forum and that is what he was encouraging by posting here.
Now...
It is an AMAZING domain. My only concern would be getting ROI if I spent too much. Many pride events work off skeleton budgets. IMHO the best use of that domain is spotlighting pride events. Could be done by charging the organizing group for a digital spotlight or selling general advertising, which is more burdensome. I suppose another option (also a lot of work) would be a branding swap out where the Pride event brings lots of attention to the site in exchange for reduced fee placement. Also, as Pride events tend to be in the summer months I imagine it would be a very seasonal domain if used for the obvious reasons.
Having said all of that, I can certainly understand you bidding up to $13,000 as getting money back on that should be relatively easy.

A domain name is just that. The average person anymore doesn't type in their web browser "gaypride.com" they google search. A domain name is only as big as you make it. With the right marketing, advertising, link trades, self-promotion, etc. that's as big as it comes.
